VolaTILE

Place tiles, trigger chain reactions, and outmaneuver your opponents! Every tile builds Volatility, and when unstable, it reacts with others—copying, transforming, and setting off powerful combos. Some tiles have unique interactions when volatile, creating new tiles you couldn't place otherwise. But be careful—other players can invade your domain at double the cost, and chain reactions can spread across borders.

How to Play

  • Expand your area with Forest tiles.
  • Generate gold with Mills to buy new tiles and reroll your hand.
  • Harvest rubies by placing a Nexus Leech near the Nexus (center tile).
  • Earn victory points by combining PreVictory tiles and making them volatile.
  • Control volatility using Stabilizer and Destabilizer tiles.
  • First to 3 victory tiles wins!

Transmutation Formulas 

  • 3 Mills → Super Farm
  • 2 PreVictory Tiles → Victory Tile

*Transmutations requires all tiles in the recipe to be adjacent and volatile.

This project was abandoned due to difficulties with balancing and pacing. Sessions were too quick and the volatility, although unique, made it quite hard for players to plan ahead. I may return to this project as the underlying tile system's architecture is solid, and could turn it into a more slow-paced tile placement game akin to Dorfromantik.
