True Souls - Update 1


After receiving a lot of feedback about the game’s difficulty, primarily due to poor player responsiveness, I’ve made significant revisions to the controls and overall feel of combat. The goal was to give players more agency over their actions while maintaining the intended challenge. Movement and attack commitment have been fine-tuned to allow for greater fluidity, ensuring that the player feels in control without removing the weight and strategy behind each decision.

Change Log:

  • Player can now cancel attacks by blocking or dashing. Cancels can be performed immediately after starting an attack or at the end of an attack. Player can also cancel out of the damaged animation in a similar way. 
  • Player's first attack has been sped up, however damage has been reduced.
  • Moved dash to Spacebar. 
  • Added progressive increase to damage for each attack in player combo.
  • Reduced Player Health and Posture by 50%. 
  • Added Healing. After a short delay, heal 60%. 
  • Boss now further indicates attacks with glowing arms
  • Added additional FX when boss takes damage. JUICE!
  • Camera now zooms out when using target lock to fit both characters in frame
  • While not using targeting, player can change the direction of attack mid-combo. 
  • Fixed game-breaking bug where the same animation stopped and started on same frame causing player to be completely uncontrollable.
